A two-part zoom workshop teaching you how Julia crafts a pitch – she will walk you through a step-by-step process for SHARING 👏 YOUR 👏 VISION 👏 with listeners.
I hear a lot of uncertainty and questions about how to pitch a TV show - this class will leave you prepared to do a fully credible pitch of your show to anyone in the industry.
I've listened to a many successful and unsuccessful pitches as a development assistant; currently, pitching comprises a large part of my own writing career; I sold a pitch to CBS in the room. I would never, ever suggest that I can guarantee a "successful" pitch - and I would be skeptical of anyone who did - but I do know how to fully convey your vision for a viable TV show in 15-20 minutes, and if you're looking for someone to demystify what that might look like - look no further!
In this workshop I will...
🧚♀️ break down the purpose of a pitch
🧚♀️ debunk common myths about things you “have to do” when pitching
🧚♀️ actually pitch a show to you!! (and share the pitch script with you)
🧚♀️ give you a step-by-step process for creating a great pitch
🧚♀️ share a detailed editable pitch template worksheet with you
🧚♀️ give you a week to go try that process
🧚♀️ answer your specific questions about any of this and personally hype you up to share your vision 🙂

Who am I?
I’m Julia - I’m a Los Angeles-based screenwriter (ABC, CBS, Amazon), writing coach, and postpartum doula/lactation educator (bet you didn’t see that one coming).
I started my career in entertainment as a development assistant - meaning, I read a GREAT MANY scripts, and importantly for our purposes, ATTENDED A GREAT MANY PITCHES!!!! I have been in the unique, amazingly lucky position of watching other writers actually pitch their projects to producers, studios, and networks, and I learned so much.
During the 2023 writers’ strike, I staved off credit card debt (kind of) by teaching and coaching - I am now a sought-after screenwriting coach with a methodology for coaching screenwriters to overcome procrastination, writer’s block, and career stagnation. My coaching has been described “a magical drug,” “a godsend,” “perceptive as hell” and “legit brilliant.”
